It's totally legit. I got it for the British & Irish breakdown, and it was super detailed. Definitely more granular for those regions.

I found it pretty accurate for my European heritage. It's not as big as Ancestry for matching, but the regional breakdown was good, especially for the UK.

I actually returned one last year. As long as it's unopened and unused, you can return it. Just check their policy, usually within a certain number of days.

Yeah, they let you return unopened kits. I think you just need to contact their support first to arrange it.

how does the raw data upload service work? just curious if it's worth it if i already have data from another company.

You just upload your raw data file from another service (like 23andMe or AncestryDNA). They analyze it and give you their specific ancestry reports. Sometimes they have discounts on the upload service too.

Yeah, it's pretty straightforward. I uploaded my 23andMe data and got a different perspective on my ancestry, especially the British sub-regions, which was cool. Worth it if you want another analysis without buying a whole new kit.

Mine took about 6-8 weeks from when they got the sample. They send you an email when it's ready.

Yeah, pretty much what the other user said. I think it was closer to 8 for me, but it was during a busy period so that might have been why.
